Heating engineers·Northwich·Where Early Dart began

Cheshire Boilers

No. 1 Baxi installer in the country.

Where it started

The problem.

We were good at fitting boilers. We wanted to be the first company people found when they needed one.

Cheshire Boilers is where Early Dart began. Before there was an Early Dart, there was a heating company in Northwich owned by our founder, Bud, and a small team inside it responsible for its marketing. That team was us.

Like most heating firms, Cheshire Boilers stayed busy through word of mouth and paid advertising. We thought it could do better. When someone nearby searched for a new boiler, we wanted Cheshire Boilers to be the first company they found, without the business paying for every enquiry. So we committed to it completely.

1of 4·Where it started

A good firm, reliant on ads

Busy when the budget was on. Quieter when it wasn’t.

Cheshire Boilers did excellent work, but its diary depended on what was being spent that month. We wanted the business found on its own merit, by anyone looking for a boiler, anywhere within reach.

2of 4·The strategy

All in on one ambition

Be the first name people find.

We stepped back, set a single clear ambition and built the whole marketing strategy around it. No scattered activity. One roadmap, with everything pointing the same way.

3of 4·The rebuild

Marketing rebuilt from the inside

We weren’t advising. We were the team.

Working inside the business, we rebuilt how Cheshire Boilers markets itself from the ground up, and kept refining it until it no longer needed pushing every day.

4of 4·The result

Number one, and still busy

Every day. Without ads.

Cheshire Boilers became the number one Baxi installer in the country, and number one for boiler installation across a 40-mile radius, ahead of firms in Manchester and well beyond Northwich. The team is still out fitting boilers every single day, without running an advert.

What changed

This is where Early Dart came from.

A local heating firm became the number one Baxi installer in the country. What worked there was too good to keep to one business, so we built a company to do it for others.

In Bud’s words
We proved it on our own business first. Cheshire Boilers went from paying for every job to the number one Baxi installer in the country, and it’s been flat out ever since. That’s why Early Dart exists.

More than doubled the enquiries coming in.

We’d tried ads, content, agencies, nothing stuck. It was hard to tell what was actually working.
